The Empire smith machine bar rides on a 90 degree, vertical, up and down plane of motion. There is no silly awkward angle. This machine was designed with both the heavy-duty, hardcore lifter in mind but also the soccer mom that loves a clean sharp looking unit that doesn't appear intimidating. High tension cables, German made, silky smooth linear bearings with a beautiful platinum powder coat. These are made with all of the best materials. We know you will love it and much as we do!

Cybex Platinum Linear Counter Balanced Smith Machine
Cybex counter balanced linear smith machine in platinum, in excellent super clean condition. This specific machine is popular for a few reasons. First, there is no awkward angle. The bar/path is perfectly vertical, which keeps the tension on the muscle that’s being worked and not away from the body. Second, this unit is significantly shorter than most commercial smith machines, making it perfect for low ceilings. Third, the bar goes all the way to the floor, making deadlifts, bent rows etc. possible. With many smith machines, the bar stops just short of the knees.

Precor Icarian platinum linear counter balanced smith machine. This is a current model Precor based on the classic Icarian line. This is one of my personal favorite smith machines because it doesn’t have any angle or slant. Wiith no angle, the tension is actually on the muscle the duration of the movement, throughout the entire rep. This machine has silky, smooth, linear bearings and is built like a tank! Built in safeties make it a great choice when training alone. The smith machine is just as effective as free weights and you’re far less likely to get hurt.
